 "INTERMEDIATE POLICE SPANISH" ONLINE COURSE

Designed for people who have taken "Functional Police Spanish" or who have had Spanish training in the past. .

Now only $30.00 - 12 months (24 hours a day) access to all of the online lessons. You can ask questions to the instructor via the forum.

Begin anytime.

If you are not satisfied with merely being "functional" in Spanish, then this course will help you reach the next level. This course will guide you through the complex areas of Spanish grammar and while you are constantly building your vocabulary. As a result, you will learn to express yourself in a variety of situations that extend beyond just law enforcement.

This course is more demanding than "Functional Police Spanish"; however, we will be with you every step of the way. The instructor will be available for questions via the online bulletin boards and regularly scheduled online classrooms. This course offers the flexibility of online courses with the personal instruction inherent in more traditional classrooms.

METHOD OF INSTRUCTION

Online classes, also called e-learning, are used by accredited universities around the world and now many people obtain college degrees without ever having to go to a classroom. SPE utilizes the same software that the major universities use to teach their programs.

One of the major benefits to using our software is that it does not require you to download and install any special software on your end. The program runs in a standard Internet browser that is already installed in all computers. The program does run best in Mozilla Firefox (this browser is available free from the manufacturer’s website)

Instructor Interaction- Unlike standard software, all students have access to an instructor. The students can also interact with the instructor and other students via the online bulletin board. Any questions posted are promptly answered by an instructor.

MP3 Sound Files - One of the most difficult parts about learning a language is pronunciation. In a traditional classroom, you only have a short time with the instructor and may only hear the particular word spoken a few times. In our courses, the lessons contain embedded sound files so you can hear every sentence pronounced in Spanish. You can also listen to the sound files over and over until you master the pronunciation. The repetition will also help you train your ear to understand spoken Spanish. 99% of the sound files are done by native speakers of the language.

Flash Video and Sound Files- We utilize video and audio flash files to teach certain aspects of the lessons. Via this method, you will learn the communication techniques that will propel your Spanish.

Vocabulary Lists and Drills in PDF format - We provide downloadable vocabulary lists and drills in PDF format. You can then print these out and work on your Spanish even if you do not have an Internet connection.

Certificate- All students who successfully complete the course will be issued a certificate of completion for their file.

Accessibility- The best part about our courses is that they are accessible 24 hours a day from anywhere with an Internet connection. Our courses work with any schedule and the student has the freedom to do the coursework at his or her own pace.  You can never use “time” as an excuse not to take one of these courses.

So what are you waiting for? You are only a click away from learning how to speak Spanish.

THE INSTRUCTOR

Paul is the creator and primary instructor of this course. Paul is a lieutenant with a large law enforcement agency in Florida. Paul has spent over 17 years working in an area with a large Spanish-speaking population (over 85,000 Latinos in the jurisdiction) and he is required to translate on a daily basis. The Spanish-speaking population in his area is made up primarily of Mexicans; however, there are residents from all of Latin America. Due to this diversity, Paul has to be familiar with the changes in word meaning and idioms among the various dialects. This is essential to reduce the chances of a mistranslation or misunderstanding.

Paul has conducted thousands of translations; has translated written documents for mass printings; has served at as the agency's representative at Spanish language events; has been interviewed on Spanish language television; and has been teaching Spanish to others for over a decade. In spite of having conducted more than 3000 work-related translations, his translations have never been successfully challenged in court. You may be surprised to learn that Paul did not speak any Spanish when he became a law enforcement officer and had to learn out of necessity. In 1996 he took the Spanish CLEP Exam and received full college credit for his knowledge of the language.

Since Paul learned Spanish as an adult (like you may be trying to do now), he has the unique position of having been where you are now. He had to consciously work on learning the language and he has countless tips to help you work through the tough areas of the language.
